Tanztheater Wuppertal returns to Sadler’s Wells to perform an acclaimed work from the early part of Pina Bausch’s career.

Part of the company’s 40th anniversary season, 1980 – A Piece By Pina Bausch was created following the death of choreographer’s professional and romantic partner Ralf Borzik.

Featuring an astoundingly diverse score including works by Beethoven, Debussy, Elgar and Brahms, the rarely performed piece is a wistful elegy dealing with nostalgia, childhood, life and death.
