Young Vic holds back Wind

First Published 8 April 2011, Last Updated 8 April 2011

The UK premiere of Jon Fosse’s tale of travelling companions, I Am The Wind, has altered its schedule due to cast illness.

The production, which was due to begin previews at the Young Vic at the end of this month, will now preview from 3 May with a press night on 10 May.

With a cast of just two, I Am The Wind was difficult to rehearse with 50 percent of the performers ill. The postponement of previews will give actors Jack Laskey and Tom Brooke the chance to catch up lost time with French director Patrice Chéreau.

Described as a “contemporary fable”, I Am The Wind marks Laskey’s return to the Young Vic, following his performance in Sweet Nothings last year.  Brooke was last seen on the London stage in the multi-award-winning Jerusalem, both at the Royal Court and the Noël Coward theatre.

Following its season at the Young Vic, I Am The Wind embarks on a European tour, taking in Austria, France and Spain.
