Wicked’s witches extend into 2016

First Published 17 July 2015, Last Updated 17 July 2015

Emma Hatton and Savannah Stevenson will continue to cast their spell over the West End into 2016, and will do so with a handful of new cast members who join the Wicked cast from September.

The duo, who play the much-loved musical’s now iconic witches, will be joined in the tale of two sorcery students and their adventures in the Land of Oz by Oliver Savile, Sean Kearns, Carina Gillespie and Daniel Hope.

Savile will take on the role of Fiyero following previous West End roles in The Phantom Of The Opera and Les Misérables, and Kearns, who boasts a similarly impressive array of stage credits including The Commitments, The 39 Steps and Billy Elliot The Musical, will play Doctor Dillamond.

While Savile and Kearns make their Wicked debuts, Gillespie and Hope both have previous experience of performing in the gravity-defying musical. Hope takes on the role of Boq, having previously been part of the show’s West End ensemble, while Gillespie, who joins the cast as Standby Glinda, played Nessarose on Wicked’s UK and Ireland tour.

The quartet takes on their new West End roles from 21 September, with further casting still to be announced.

Now the 10th longest running show in the West End, Wicked charts the story of two of the most iconic characters in The Wizard Of Oz and how they came to fulfil their destinies as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, which takes its inspiration from the characters in L Frank Baum’s classic, the Olivier Award-winning musical has been seen by almost seven million people during the course of its hugely successful run in the capital.

Wicked is currently booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 30 April 2016. You can book tickets for the show through us. Alternatively, if you’d like to take your family to see the popular West End hit this August, you can get a free child’s ticket for every full price ticket purchased through Kids Week.
