Wicked stars Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans will continue in their current roles of Elphaba and Glinda respectively, it has been announced, with Chris Jarman, Rosa O’Reilly and the previously announced David Witts all joining the company from Monday 23 July.
Jarman will take on the role of Doctor Dillamond, while O’Reilly, currently a cast member of the hit musical, will assume the part of Nessarose.
Also staying on in the world class West End musical are Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Jack Lansbury (Boq), Laura Pick (Standby for Elphaba), and Carina Gillespie and Maria Coyne (both Standby for Glinda).
Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose) and original cast member Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond) will all therefore play their final performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on Saturday 21 July 2018.
It’s another iconic West End show in the career of Jarman, who most recently played Hagrid and the Sorting Hat in the original London cast of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. He also previously played The General in the original cast of The Book Of Mormon. O’Reilly, meanwhile, originally joined the London cast of Wicked in August 2016, and has already played the role of Nessarose on numerous occasions.
Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire that ingeniously re-imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, Wicked is the extraordinary tale of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
