As the West End’s magical hit Wicked zooms on its hugely popular broomsticks into its 9th year, the show has announced it has extended its run to 7 November 2015.

Half a million tickets for Joe Mantello’s Olivier Award-winning production will go on sale on Monday, marking a staggering 18th time the show has extended its booking period since its London premiere in 2006.

The 10th longest running show currently playing in the West End, Wicked tells the untold story of the two infamous Witches of Oz, Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

As they journey from rivals as sorcery students to form an unlikely friendship, the pair embark on extraordinary adventures in Oz before fulfilling their very different destinies.

The West End cast currently includes Kerry Ellis, who recently returned to the role of Elphaba after five years, and Savannah Stevenson as the leading duo.

Casting from 27 October is still to be announced.
