Fans of hit musical Wicked have even longer to catch the untold tale of the witches of Oz after the London show announced it has extended its booking period at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 30 April 2016.
The extension means that from Monday at 10:00 an additional 500,000 tickets will be available for the Olivier Award-winning production that reimagines L Frank Baum’s The Wizard Of Oz to tell an altogether different story about how two sorcery students came to fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel and featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Wicked has been seen by more than six million theatregoers in the capital and is now the 10th longest running show in the West End.
The production, which boasts more than 3,500 performances in London, has become well-known for its memorable score, which includes The Wizard And I, Popular, For Good, Something Bad and the showstopping Defying Gravity.
Wicked currently stars Jennifer DiNoia as its iconic green-skinned witch, but from 2 February current Standby Elphaba Emma Hatton will take over the role, joining a cast including Savannah Stevenson, Jeremy Taylor, Liza Sadovy, Martyn Ellis, Philip Childs, Sam Lupton and Katie Rowley Jones.
Tickets for the enchanting musical can be booked through us here. For performances until 13 February, Wicked fans can grab themselves an absolute bargain through our annual discount ticket promotion Get Into London Theatre, which is offering tickets for the hit show at £20, £30 and £40.
