Lydia Monks, illustrator of the bestselling picture book What The Ladybird Heard, is holding a workshop at London’s National Gallery to celebrate the West End show.
The workshop, organised by Kenny Wax Family Entertainment and Macmillan Children’s Books in association with the National Gallery, will be taking place on Thursday 27 July at 2pm in the Sainsbury Wing Theatre. It will also introduce the brand-new picture book What The Ladybird Heard On Holiday, which is the third instalment in the What the Ladybird Heard series.
Tickets can be purchased through the National Gallery’s website.
The event will offer children the chance to join Lydia as she shows them how to draw their favourite farmyard animals from What The Ladybird Heard. Plus, they can find out what those two crafty thieves, Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len, are getting up to on their holiday in London!
The stage adaptation of What The Ladybird Heard is currently on at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue until 10 September. Join the woolly sheep, the hairy hog, the fat red hen and the dainty dog in a colourful farmyard adventure with original songs and music, puppetry, plenty of audience participation and lots of laughs. The action-packed 55-minute production is the perfect treat for families with children aged three and up.
