A host of London’s hottest musicals will be bringing free entertainment to Leicester Square this summer as part of West End LIVE.
The two-day event, which runs on 20 and 21 June, will include crowd-pleasing performances from 2009 Laurence Olivier Award-winners La Cage Aux Folles and Jersey Boys, alongside Avenue Q, Carousel, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, Hairspray, Oliver!, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, Sister Act, Stomp, Thriller Live, We Will Rock You and Wicked.
Speaking about the event, a celebration of all the West End has to offer, Nica Burns, President of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) commented: “London has the best theatre in the world. No city can rival the variety of entertainment that can be enjoyed daily in London. West End LIVE gives everyone the chance to enjoy a weekend of fantastic free entertainment showcasing some of our fabulous shows and the opportunity to take part in a range of fun activities.”
Now in its fifth year, the organisers of West End LIVE are expecting more than 150,000 people to attend the free event, which also includes activities, stalls and other performances, over the course of the weekend.
