I’ve met some bizarre characters on the top deck of London’s iconic red buses in my time, but never any quite as terrifying as the one in the pictures above.
This intrepid Australovenator – Australia’s answer to a T-Rex apparently – headed out on a sightseeing tour of London, taking in the London Eye and Big Ben on the way to its festive home at the Phoenix theatre where it, and a selection of other prehistoric friends, will be residing for the return of Australia’s interactive family show Dinosaur Zoo.
As mean and tough as this fanged creature looks, we’re still not convinced who would win in a fight between even a dinosaur as fierce as this one and children’s picture book favourite, the Gruffalo. Luckily the two didn’t bump into one another to find out when the fluffy beast was also spotted out and about. Having perhaps exhausted London’s tourist attractions after racking up more than five West End festive runs, the Gruffalo instead decided to pick up a key yuletide decoration for the Lyric theatre, bringing Shaftesbury Avenue to a standstill with the arrival of something familiar from his forest home…
Check out what happened when the West End beasts were let loose on the streets of London above.
