West End Bares 2016

West End Bares 2016 theme for all

First Published 30 June 2016, Last Updated 30 June 2016

“Excalibare” will be the theme for the annual cheeky charity fundraiser West End Bares’ 2016 event, it has been announced, with the production promising to take audiences on a quite unique epic medieval adventure.

Billed as “a Knight like no other”, over 100 of the most exciting performers from across the West End and beyond will come together to stage medieval tales as you’ve never imagined them before, all in the name of the The Make A Difference Trust.

Offering all the cheek of burlesque with all the glamour of London’s Theatreland, West End Bares is based on the original concept of Broadway Bares by acclaimed director Jerry Mitchell, and is now in its seventh year of lighting up the West End – in all of its glory. The “hottest night out at the theatre”, this year’s shows will take place at the Novello Theatre on Sunday 25 September at 19:00 and 21:30.

With the eagerly anticipated list of performers due to be announced later this summer, theatregoers can for now only guess which stars will be raising their swords to join the charity crusade and follow in the footsteps of previous celebrity supporters including Graham Norton, Sheridan Smith, John Barrowman, Paul O’Grady and Joe Lycett.

West End Bares is produced by the Make A Difference Trust, a UK based charity with a vision of a world free from HIV and AIDs. The theatre industry has been raising money for over 25 years, and continues to strive to make this vision a reality, with over £1.6 million distributed in grants to support individuals experiencing hardships across the UK.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, and priced at between £10 and £100. For more information, please see the event’s website.
