Apollo Victoria Sponges, Red Velvet cakes and How The Other Half Loaves; they could all be on display and up for sale when theatrical cake contest West End Bake Off returns for 2016.
The tasty fundraiser proved such a success last year that it’s back this summer, returning to St Anne’s Church Courtyard from 11:00 to 13:00 on Saturday 16 July.
As with last year’s inaugural event, West End Bake Off will feature mouth-watering muffins, beautiful buns and many other delectable concoctions baked by teams from some of the West End’s favourite productions.
All the tasty treats will be up for sale, with all proceeds going to Acting For Others, the umbrella organisation that represents 15 theatrical charities offering emotional and financial support to members of the entertainment industry that have fallen on hard times through illness, injury or circumstance.
Last year, in which the quality of cake was judged by Barbara Windsor and Christopher Biggins, saw £4,000 raised. Legendarily long-running thriller The Mousetrap took first prize, beating offerings from 13 other London shows in the process.
