Former EastEnders actress Hannah Waterman is the latest actress to disrobe at the Noël Coward theatre in the stage adaptation of Calendar Girls. She replaces Julie Goodyear from 1 December.
Former Coronation Street actress Goodyear has been forced to leave the production after contracting a virus and being advised by doctors to take complete rest.
Waterman, who is best known for playing Laura Dunn in the London-set soap, will play Miss July in the tale of a group of friends from the Women’s Institute who choose to raise money by posing for a nude calendar. She joins a cast including Kelly Brook, Janie Dee, Helen Lederer, Rosalind Knight, Debbie Chazen, Arabella Weir, Jan Leeming and Carl Prekopp, all of whom continue in the show until 9 January.
Calendar Girls, which is based on the hit British film of the same name, opened in the West End in April, with a cast including Lynda Bellingham and Patricia Hodge. The comic drama, which began life at the Chichester Festival Theatre before embarking on a UK tour, closes in London in January before embarking on a second national tour which will also feature Waterman.
