Killer Joe had its official West End opening last night and, having enjoyed the rollercoaster ride of Tracy Letts’ black comedy, we can confirm it’s a show to die for.
And celebrating his return to the West End after a decade’s absence, Orlando Bloom – yes, of Lord Of The Rings and Pirates Of The Carribean fame – and the rest of the all-star cast spoke to us about how they were relishing slaying Trafalgar Studios audiences night after night.

Killer Joe is written by the multi-award-winning Tracy Letts, who also penned the film of the same name. Along with Bloom in the mysterious titular role, this revival stars Sophie Cookson as the young and innocent Dottie, Adam Gillen as the conniving Chris, Neve McIntosh as Chris’ step-mother Sharla and Steffan Rhodri as Chris’ father Ansel.
A tense, gut-twisting thriller, Killer Joe, directed by Simon Evans (The Dazzle and Bug at Found111, The Best Man) asks where the moral line is drawn in the fight for survival.
