If you’ve ever stood in front of the mirror, hairbrush in hand, pretending to belt out your favourite number on the West End stage, we’ve got some VERY exciting news for you.
Adding to the excitement of Waitress serving up a great musical in Theatreland is the announcement of the next “Cast Album Karaoke” night, which will take place on Wednesday 25 September.
The hosts will be Joe Sugg (who is about to step into the shoes of Ogie) and Marisha Wallace (who plays Becky).
Taking place after the show, theatre fans can sing one minute of any song from Waitress, live on the Adelphi Theatre’s stage, accompanied by the show’s musical director Katharine Woolley, so you’ll be getting the proper West End star treatment!
If you’re interested in treading the boards and channelling your inner Jenna, Becky, Dawn, Becky, Earl or Dr. Pomatter, then you just need to sign up at the theatre before that evening’s performance begins.
Previous hosts of Waitress Karaoke have included Denise Van Outen, Katharine McPhee, Lucie Jones, Chizzy Akudolu, Jack McBrayer, Heart Breakfast presenter Lucy Horobin, Ruthie Henshall, Laura Baldwin and David Hunter.
Brought to London by an all-female lead creative team, with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, Waitress tells the story of talented pie-maker and waitress Jenna, who has ambitions of leaving her small town and unhappy marriage behind her. But with life serving up some unexpected change for her, and a baking contest offering her a fresh start, can Jenna write a new recipe for her happiness?
Alongside Lucie Jones as Jenna, Waitress currently stars Blake Harrison as Ogie, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Andrew Boyer as Old Joe.
Waitress is now playing at the Adelphi Theatre and you can book your tickets right here!
