Video: Wind In The Willow’s Alan Titchmarsh

Published 10 November 2014

When we first heard that Alan Titchmarsh would be making his West End debut this Christmas, we thought it particularly fitting that out of every show playing in London the TV presenter – more famous for his gardening skills than stage credentials – has chosen the riverbank-set The Wind In The Willows to do it in. And, from the video released by the Olivier Award-winning show today, it seems we were absolutely right that Titchmarsh will feel very much at home in the production.

After growing up in the Yorkshire Dales, the much-loved Titchmarsh grew to love The Wind In The Willows for its similar country-setting and it still remains his favourite book. Perfect, then, that from 26 November he will be displaying his passion for the tale as the narrator in the Royal Opera House’s hugely successful dance and song-filled family hit.

For a first look at Titchmarsh getting into character, watch the video above. There’s also a host of stunning new production images to flick through offering a tantalising glimpse as to how Nicky Gillibrand’s brilliantly imaginative costumes will bring to life Ratty, Toad, Mole and all the gang once again this Christmas.

The Wind In The Willows plays at the Vaudeville Theatre from 26 November to 17 January. You can book tickets through us here.
