Video: Mark Gatiss on The Vote

First Published 7 May 2015, Last Updated 8 May 2015

Today is a day that will make the history books. Yes, it’s the day of the old GE. Or, as we like to call it, Great Entertainment. Because, while we’re fully committed to today’s other political distractions, we’re not talking about that vote but The Vote.

Over in Covent Garden, the Donmar Warehouse is today steeling itself for a momentous – and no doubt nerve-wracking – moment in theatrical history, with tonight’s performance of James Graham’s election play to be streamed live on More 4.

It’s an ambitious project and one made all the more challenging by the acclaimed venue’s bijou stage, a cast of more than 50 and competition from numerous news channels who will be doing their very best to keep anxious voters glued to their screens. Have they got Judi Dench though, hey? What about Catherine Tate or, the man we spoke to in our video above, the great Mark Gatiss? We thought not.

Find out more about the ground-breaking production in our interview with the star (above), when we caught up with him on the red carpet at last month’s Olivier Awards with MasterCard to talk famous co-stars and live streaming nerves.

You can watch The Vote tonight from 20:30 on More4.
