Harry Houdini was renowned for escaping all manner of liquid-filled vessels, from the Chinese water torture cell that saw him lowered head-first in shackles to being thrown into New York’s East River while trapped in a crate.

Granted, that’s impressive, but watch – literally, in our video above – as Ali Cook, one of the forthcoming stars of new West End magic show Impossible, manages a similar feat in a matter of seconds AND casually swaps places with his glamorous assistant in the process.

With Impossible set to begin its run at the Noël Coward Theatre on Friday, we caught up with the Yorkshire-born actor and magician to learn more about what we can expect from the “biggest magic show in decades” and to get a sneaky (and soggy) peek into his role in the production.

If you fancy taking your family to see Impossible this summer, you can get a free child’s ticket for every full price ticket purchased for performances in August through Kids Week. For a child-free trip or for performances in July you can book tickets through us.
