The theme is love in Murder Ballad, a dark new musical set to open at the Arts Theatre this October. The fresh rock musical tells the tale of Sara, caught in a secret love triangle, torn between her downtown past and her uptown future. We simply couldn’t resist getting the gossip on this love-gone-wrong story.
Watch the video to see what the full cast and director, Sam Yates, have to say about bringing the show to London and why we should be excited about its arrival.
Kerry Ellis, who originated the role of Meat in We Will Rock You, Ramin Karimloo, known for his portrayal of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and the Phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, recently seen in In The Heights, and Norman Bowman, who played Ross in Kenneth Branagh’s Macbeth, bring this sung-through, four-hander to life from 30 September.
Murder Ballad tells the story of Sara, Tom and Michael, three New Yorkers caught in a secret love triangle that could tear their lives apart. Life has not dealt any of them the cards they wanted, and Sara is stuck in the middle. Is the one that got away really worth risking everything for?
