Islington’s puppet theatre, the Little Angel, is creating a brand new puppet production of the fairy tale Cinderella this Christmas. The show, suitable for children aged five and over, will run from 10 November 2007 to 27 January 2008.
Based on the classic version of the rags-to-riches story by the Brothers Grimm, the Little Angel’s Cinderella uses original music, marionettes, rod puppets and theatrical wizardry to bring the story to life for all the family.
Alongside the main show, the theatre will also present a 30-minute edited version for children aged two to five called Little Cinders.
Founded in 1961, the Little Angel is the oldest purpose built puppet theatre in the capital and has built up a reputation for diverse puppet productions which play both at the Islington venue and around the country. Previous productions include Fantastic Mr Fox, The Mouse Queen, Jabberwocky and Jonah And The Whale. Their current show, Handa’s Surprise, visits the Unicorn from 11 December.
