The world-famous tkts ticket booth in Leicester Square – the original and, still, the only official half-price ticket booth in London – has announced a significant new service for customers. In addition to on-the-day half-price theatre tickets sales, the booth will now also sell advance tickets for a range of events.
Customers can now book in advance at tkts for theatre, pop, rock and classical concerts and major sporting events, as well as many London-based events, exhibitions and attractions.
Paul James, Commercial Manager of the Society of London Theatre, which runs tkts, said: “I think our key customers are always going to be savvy theatregoers heading for the safest, friendliest and most knowledgeable place to get their bargain on-the-day theatre tickets – but I’m sure we’ll also be getting music and sports fans taking advantage of a convenient one-stop ticket shop in central London. Plus we can now help theatregoers plan their whole day out in London with tickets to tourist attractions. For instance, I hear ice-skating is popular at the moment!”
tkts was founded in 1980, when it was known as the Half Price Ticket Booth. It was rebranded as tkts in 2001 to distinguish it from the many unofficial ticket kiosks which had sprung up in the area. The tkts booth, located in the Clocktower Building on the south side of Leicester Square, is a popular local landmark and draws its customers from all over the world. A second tkts outlet, which also now sells both on-the-day discount and advance tickets, opened at the Brent Cross Shopping Centre in North West London earlier this year.
Advance ticketing at tkts is presented via a partnership with leading ticketing company Ticketmaster.
