It’s Simply The Best news for Tina Turner fans this morning, as due to exceptional advance demand, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical has released 100,000 new tickets, and is now booking at the Aldwych Theatre until 20 October 2018.
Tina – The Tina Turner musical is based on the life of legendary Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Turner, charting her journey from humble beginnings to global musical icon. The brand new show, which makes its world premiere in the West End this Spring, begins previews on 21 March, with official opening night on 17 April.
Tina Turner (played by Broadway star Adrienne Warren in her West End debut) didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them. This new stage musical, written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins, and presented in association with Tina Turner herself, reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race.
The production has also announced that three short films, charting its development of the show, are to be released on the show’s social media channels. In the first instalment, Phyllida Lloyd, Director of the show, visits Tina Turner to talk about life, music and the stage. You can see this below:
