The Tiger Who Came To Tea will return to London’s Lyric Theatre this Christmas when Judith Kerr’s much-loved ravenous feline will wreak another round of teatime havoc in David Wood’s acclaimed adaptation.
Wood’s Olivier Award nominated production for children aged three and older will play at the venue from 25 November to 10 January.
Packed full of magic, singalong songs and, not forgetting, a lot of clumsy chaos, The Tiger Who Came To Tea tells the story of the tea-loving, cake-eating big cat of its title as he arrives on Sophie’s doorstep with one incredibly insatiable appetite.
Loved by children and adults alike, The Tiger Who Came To Tea was nominated for the Best Entertainment & Family Olivier Award in 2012 and has been described by Official London Theatre’s Charlotte Marshall as “leaving even the most hardened parent touched”.
The hugely popular page to stage adaptation has been a regular feature on the London stage in recent years, playing summer seasons in the West End in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
Now bringing teatime and tiger-related chaos to the festive season, the much-loved production will play daytime performances alongside the Lyric Theatre’s long-term hit resident Thriller Live, which will continue to entertain audiences with Michael Jackson’s legendary music as usual.
