Thriller Live alters and extends

First Published 14 October 2009, Last Updated 14 October 2009

Thriller Live, the high energy West End Michael Jackson spectacular, has extended its London run due to public demand. The show is now booking until 9 May 2010.

The song and dance extravaganza at the Lyric theatre, which has become a focal point for fans remembering the recently deceased pop star, has also been reworked following Jackson’s death earlier this year. It now opens with Gone Too Soon as a tribute to the iconic star, while a new version of They Don’t Care About Us is soon to be added.

The news of the show’s extension comes shortly after three of Michael’s brothers and co-performers in the Jackson Five, Tito, Marlon and Jackie, flew in from the US especially to see the show.

Thriller Live, which collects together the hits of Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five in one evening of moon-walking, zombie-dancing, single-glove-wearing entertainment, opened in London in January 2009. Among the hits it offers theatregoers are dance floor anthems including I Want You Back, Can You Feel It, Beat It, Billie Jean and the title track.

Thriller Live has recently become so successful that in addition to its London production, new companies have embarked on a 10-date UK arena tour and a nine month European tour. Dates in Australia, Russia, China and America are also being planned for 2010.
