Booking is now open for the 10th TheatreCraft, as the behind the scenes theatrical careers fair prepares to return to the Royal Opera House to celebrate a decade of the spectacular event this autumn.
Taking place on 20 November, TheatreCraft offers 16 to 25-year-olds looking for a non-performance career in theatre the chance to gain invaluable insights into many aspects of theatre, from direction and stage management to producing, marketing, lighting and design.
As well as having the chance to explore the marketplace of exhibiting theatres and organisations, attendees are also given the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops led by theatre professionals, seek one-to-one advice in the Ask The Experts zone and communicate with similar minded peers in networking hubs.
Organised by the Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust, the Royal Opera House, Mousetrap Theatre Projects, Creative & Cultural Skills and the organisation behind this website, Society of London Theatre, last year’s free event saw more than 1,200 individuals take part in more than 70 workshops and engage with 55 theatres and organisations in the marketplace, making it the most successful TheatreCraft to date.
Talking at the 2014 event, Vicky Featherstone, TheatreCraft ambassador and Artistic Director of the Royal Court, said: “I truly believe theatre in its wider sense has something in it for absolutely everyone and TheatreCraft will allow you to explore this. [It’s] an amazing opportunity to come together and learn about your future. Theatre is about people and their shared experiences.”
The full programme of organisations and workshops will be announced in September, but you can book your place now on the TheatreCraft website.
