Booking is now open for this year’s TheatreCraft, London’s largest free event for 16-25 year olds seeking non-performance careers in theatre.
The annual careers fair has a new home for 2016 at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel, and offers attendees the opportunity to participate in numerous workshops led by theatre professionals, explore a vibrant marketplace of exhibiting theatres and organisations, seek one-to-one advice in the Ask The Experts zone, and interact with peers in networking hubs.
It will take place on Monday 14 November, with a line-up of talks happening throughout partnering West End theatres to be announced at a later date.
Adam Kenwright, co-founder of international theatre marketing and communications services provider AKA, and recently appointed Executive Vice President of Ambassador Theatre Group, has also been announced as this year’s TheatreCraft Ambassador. Kenwright will deliver a welcome speech and open the event.
Of the announcement, Kenwright said, “TheatreCraft creates a unique and free event, whole-heartedly supported by the industry, for 16-25 year olds so that they may better understand the vast variety of careers that contribute to creating theatre productions.
“As someone who first started in the business as a teenager and who has personally worked in the box office, back stage, front of house, publicity, casting, marketing and in production, I am excited and proud to have been chosen to be this year’s Ambassador for TheatreCraft. Helping young people discover the behind the scenes professions that make our great industry thrive is vital to future of theatre.”
Returning for an 11th year, TheatreCraft is organised by a group of committed partners from across the creative and cultural industries; the Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust, the Royal Opera House, Society of London Theatre, Mousetrap Theatre Projects and Creative and Cultural Skills.
