It only seems like yesterday we first dropped our programmes and dived for cover when a rogue chandelier came hurtling our way, but from October 2018, the iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Phantom Of The Opera will have enjoyed a stunning 32 West End years at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

And with the brilliant Tim Howar landing the famous titular role this week, we’ve decided to bring back another classic Theatre Spot Test to tease you loyal fan-toms (see what we did there?).

The musical opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. The enchanting love story is clearly a fan favourite, having won the Olivier Audience Award (voted for by the public) in the 2016 Olivier Awards with Mastercard, adding to its haul of over 50 major theatre awards worldwide.

And so, honouring a true West End classic, we invite you to attempt this week’s Theatre Spot Test: based off nothing more than a teaser lyric, how many of the gorgeous Lloyd Webber songs from The Phantom Of The Opera can you name?

Sing them once again for me – you’ve got 7 minutes! Song titles are taken from the 25th Anniversary album recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, and you can find out more about the show here.

The Phantom Of The Opera is also participating in Kids Week; throughout August, a child aged 16 or under can go free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price, and there are no booking fees to pay.
