Great shows for kids
You can travel all around the world from your theatre seat this half term, with shows that will completely transport you to far flung places.
Head to the icy lands of Arendelle and be enchanted by the magical stage show of family favourite Frozen (6+), or if you’re desperate for warmer climates, Disney’s The Lion King (6+) will whisk you away to the plains of the Serengeti.
New musical Jungle Rumble (4+) is perfect for younger kids, and you’ll journey deep into the heart of the jungle with a whole host of animals!

Shows teenagers will love
Thought teen storylines were confined to bingeable soaps and dramas? Think again, there are so many musicals and plays that will get your teenagers excited about theatre.
Dear Evan Hansen (12+) is a story all about a 17-year-old with social anxiety’s struggle to fit in at school, an ultimate tale of love and acceptance.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella (6+) introduces us to a new kind of princess, the perfect heroine for the chunky boot-wearing teenager. This re-telling of the classic fairytale brings it into the 21st century and injects it with some attitude!
But she’s not the only new kid on the block, pop jukebox musical & Juliet (6+) picks up where Shakespeare left off, and imagines that Juliet doesn’t drink the poison at the end of the play, in fact, that’s only the start of her story!
The Ocean At The End Of The Lane (12+) is a dark and twisty tale of a man transported magically back to his 12th birthday and plunged into battle with ancient magical forces that threaten to destroy everything around them. Whether you’ve read the book or not, Neil Gaiman’s story is brought to dazzling life in this production!
For the big kid in you too!
Would you believe that the first Harry Potter book came out almost 25 years ago? Just like Harry Potter And The Cursed Child (10+) shows us a new generation of Hogwarts-bound witches and wizards, the magical stage show is a great trip for OG Harry Potter fans and younger fans alike!
If you’re looking for more shows to give you a nostalgic hit that your kids will love too, then why not check out Matilda The Musical (6+) or Mary Poppins (7+). Both British classics have been given new life in Olivier Award-winning stage productions and will take you right back to your own childhood!
Finally, you can never go wrong without a bit of slapstick! Whether you’re 8 or 80, we challenge you not to laugh at a pratfall. Mischief comedy have not one but two hilarious shows on in London at the moment. The Play That Goes Wrong (8+) follows a drama society’s botched attempt at a whodunnit and in Magic Goes Wrong (10+) you can witness a charity fundraiser that spirals out of control. No matter what your age, you’ll leave in stitches!
