In this week’s Theatre Chat Live, Jess speaks to Kiran Landa who is currently starring in Extinct, a new one woman play at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Written by April De Angelis and directed by Kirsty Housley, Extinct is an urgent new play that takes on the climate emergency head on using a tapestry of testimonials from environmental activists. In the play, Kiran plays a woman who has just one hour to change our future. One hour to avert a catastrophe. She’ll give everything she has.
Kiran talks to Jess all about the creative process behind pulling the show together, some incredibly shocking facts about climate change and her passion for making change and educating people about this urgent matter.
Whether you’re someone who is interested in the climate crisis and are not sure what you can do to help, or you have no idea about the crisis and want to learn, Kiran explains that this show is for everyone.
And while there are plenty of facts in the show, the creative team has produced this show in such a way that it is dynamic and energetic, taking you through a journey to learning more about the world crisis in a creative enjoyable way.

Extinct is playing at the Theatre Royal Stratford East until 17 July and will also be streamed from Tuesday 13 – Sunday 18 July.
