The Play That Goes Wrong extends and tours

First Published 22 July 2016, Last Updated 1 August 2016

Comedy hit The Play That Goes Wrong has extended its booking period until September 2017.

The Play That Goes Wrong started life at a London fringe venue with only four paying members of the public at the first performance, and has since played to an audience of over a quarter of a million, having been awarded the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2015.

Producer Kenny Wax said of the show, and its success: “The Play That Goes Wrong has been licensed to 25 countries, currently playing in Japan, Hungary and Paris – as well as in London. It goes to prove that audiences come to the theatre to be entertained and that the fun to be had in watching brilliantly plotted physical comedy is universal.”

As well as extending its run in London’s West End, the show has also announced a UK tour, opening at Theatre Royal Bath on 10 January and visiting 30 venues nationwide until July 2017.

The Play That Goes Wrong follows the antics of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, who are trying their very best to stage a production of a 1920s murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong… does!

You can book your tickets through us today. Families take note – The Play That Goes Wrong is also taking part in our summer promotion, Kids Week, where can kids go free throughout August.
