Tall Stories Theatre Company has announced two new ticket schemes for its well-loved family show, The Gruffalo Live. In a bid to encourage school theatre trips, the company will offer two free tickets to teachers in London-based primary schools. In addition to this, The Gruffalo Live Free Schools’ Tickets Initiative offers 300 children from London schools the opportunity to see the show for free.
Toby Mitchell, Co-Artistic Director of Tall Stories stated that ‘Tall Stories’ aim is to get kids into theatres because it makes it more of a sense of occasion. It’s special, they’re excited, they’re going out of school and they are experiencing theatre as adults do.’
The company will also launch an interactive version of the production this autumn, to be performed for free in inner London schools.
The Gruffalo Live celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and has recently announced its extension into 2017. The production runs at the Lyric Theatre from 6 July to 8 January. It is a participating show in Kids Week.
