Tara brings Tempest to Arts

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 18 April 2008

Tara Arts’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest comes to the Arts theatre from 9-27 January (press night 10 January), prior to a national tour.

This production of Shakespeare’s tale of revenge and manipulation originated in Tara’s South London studio in October and has a cast which comprises Keith Thorne (Caliban/Gonzalo), Caroline Kilpatrick (Ariel), Tom Kanji (Antonio/Stefano), Robert Mountford (Prospero/Trinculo), Chris Jack (Ferdinand/Sebastian) and Jessica Manley (Miranda/Alonzo). It is directed by Tara’s Artistic Director Jatinder Verma, with design by Claudia Mayer.

Currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, Tara Arts is known for its distinct cross-cultural style of theatre, drawing on Asian dramaturgical practices to reinvent European texts. Previous productions include the trilogy Journey To The West, The Merchant Of Venice, An Enemy Of The People, The Genie Of Samarkand and The Marriage Of Figaro.
