Strictly Come Dancing stars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace are to bring their currently touring show, Midnight Tango, to the West End next year for a strictly limited season at the Aldwych theatre.

Award-winning Italian dancers Simone and Cacace have been professional partners since meeting as teenagers. Midnight Tango, which is the first show the pair have choreographed together, will open on 20 January and run until 31 March.

Set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires, Midnight Tango brings to life all the drama, sensuality and elegance of the passionate dance style of the title. Simone and Cacace will be joined on stage by tango dancers from around the world, as they lead audiences on a journey to the heart of Buenos Aires full of danger, excitement, joy and jealousy.

Midnight Tango is directed by the Olivier Award-winning choreographer Karen Bruce. As well as her work on the show that brought Simone and Cacace into the public eye –BBC’s hugely popular dance show Strictly Come Dancing – Bruce has worked on theatre productions including Footloose in the West End and the Donmar Warehouse’s Pacific Overtures.

Delighted to be coming to Theatreland, Simone and Cacace commented: “It’s an absolute thrill that we are taking the show to the West End. We sincerely hope to continue giving pleasure and making our audiences smile and cry with our show.”

Midnight Tango is produced by West End choreography royalty Arlene Phillips and Dirty Dancing producer Adam Spiegel who described the show as “a must-see”.
