Snow, science and Santa Claus will be entertaining children at the Bloomsbury theatre this autumn as a trio of family shows takes over the venue in the run-up to Christmas.
The season gets off to a Horrible start from 8 October with Birmingham Stage Company’s Horrible Science seeking to provide answers to those all-important questions – Is picking your nose dangerous? Why doesn’t the moon wander off? Why don’t penguins get spots? – keeping young audience members engrossed with the silly science-related facts until 12 October.
With just over a fortnight to go until Christmas, Snow Play will bring that much-wished-for white stuff to the venue from 10 December, telling its tale of Mr Green, who returns from holiday to find Mr White covering his whole house in snow, until 11 January. Brrrimming with snow, the show invites audiences to get involved by making a snowman and taking part in a huge snowball fight as Mr White tries to get Mr Green to move his project outside.
While Lyngo’s snowy showdown between winter and spring dominates the Bloomsbury’s festive period, Santa Claus will bring another slice of science to the venue on Sundays from 15 to 22 December. Deemed suitable for anyone who likes science, comedy or Christmas, Comedy Club 4 Kids’ science-steeped show sees Father Christmas’ elves seek help from scientists and comedians in an attempt to change the festive fellow’s mind after he stops believing in Christmas.
