Sinatra tribute concerts at Palladium

First Published 13 October 2014, Last Updated 13 October 2014

Richard Shelton will join a line-up of West End performers at the London Palladium next year for the world premiere of Sinatra 100, a series of performances celebrating the 100th anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s birth.

The five weeks of performances will take place from 20 March to 25 April at the iconic venue where Sinatra made his British singing debut in 1950.

One of the world’s finest Sinatra interpreters, Shelton is well-known for his long-running role as Adam Forsythe in ITV soap Emmerdale. On stage he has appeared as Harry Bright in the West End production of Mamma Mia! and as Sinatra in Rat Pack Confidential.

The actor and singer will be joined by a star-studded collection of performers that are still to be announced, but the show’s producers have been travelling the world in search of artists, many of whom performed with Sinatra himself, to bring his music to life at the London Palladium.

The series of concerts, which will be accompanied by the world’s biggest Big Band and Sinatra’s own rhythm section, will arrive at the venue following Nicole Scherzinger’s West End debut. The Pussycat Dolls singer will star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Cats from 6 December to 28 February.
