The tip top tappers of Top Hat will be the opening act at the free entertainment extravaganza West End LIVE, in association with MasterCard, kicking off the weekend of theatrical fun at 11:00 on 23 June.
The annual event, held in Trafalgar Square on 23 and 24 June, will feature all of London’s hit musical shows, performing on a specially created stage for an audience of theatregoers, tourists, passers-by and entertainment enthusiasts.
After Top Hat’s hell-clicking opening, shows including Wicked, Billy Elliot The Musical and Sweeney Todd will perform on the Saturday morning, with productions including Ghost The Musical, We Will Rock You, Rock Of Ages and Les Misérables entertaining the masses on Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday the stage will crash into life at midday with the cast of Stomp making sure everyone is awake with their percussive prancing, which will be followed by performances including The Wizard Of Oz, Shrek The Musical, The Lion King and Matilda The Musical. Sunday afternoon also features solo performances from musical theatre stars Louise Dearman, Mark Evans, Alex Gaumond and Daniel Boys.
