Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are extending

First Published 27 March 2017, Last Updated 27 March 2017

Due to popular demand, The Old Vic is pleased to announce that Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will extend by one week, until Saturday 6 May.

In addition to the extra week of performances, The Old Vic has announced two Voices Off events in connection with Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead: Daniel Radcliffe and Joshua McGuire will be in conversation on stage on Tuesday 2 May, and The Old Vic hosts The School Of Life: How To Face Death on Saturday 29 April, a workshop on death and how we might think about this complex topic without experiencing it for ourselves.

As previously announced, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will also be broadcast live from The Old Vic to cinemas around the UK on Thursday 20 April as part of NT Live.

Half a century after its premiere on The Old Vic stage, Radcliffe (Rosencrantz) is joined in this mind-bending situational comedy by stage, film and screen star Joshua McGuire (Guildenstern). The hapless duo take centre stage as minor roles in a production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. But they quickly find themselves out of their depth, stumbling their way through the action of the iconic drama.

Painting a literary hallway of mirrors, this is Tom Stoppard at his brilliantly funny, existential finest, as the characters find themselves locked in the ultimate identity crisis. Official London Theatre described the show as “a wonderfully rewarding comedy.”
