Robot for Roundhouse this Christmas

First Published 9 October 2013, Last Updated 11 October 2013

Tall Stories will bring its latest family theatrical offering My Brother The Robot to the Roundhouse this Christmas.

Brought to the stage by the acclaimed theatre company behind much-loved children’s adaptations including Room On The Broom and The Gruffalo, My Brother The Robot will entertain audiences aged four and older with its tale of family, technology and artificial intelligence at the Chalk Farm venue from 14 December to 5 January.

Based on the story by director Toby Mitchell, the festive family production is set in a futuristic world where a little girl called Bobbie lives with her father in a house bursting with technology. Though content with their lives, as Christmas approaches Bobbie decides that she would like someone to play with so her dad locks himself in his lab and creates her a robotic brother. Little do they know that having a robot in the family can cause all sorts of problems.

While My Brother The Robot brings Tall Stories’ unique brand of storytelling, humour and original songs to the Roundhouse during the festive period, further south at the St James theatre, the family theatre company will provide more music and laughter from 10 December to 5 January with The Snail And The Whale.
