Richmond welcomes Dahl’s George

First Published 22 April 2010, Last Updated 22 April 2010

Birmingham Stage Company’s new production of George’s Marvellous Medicine is to come to Richmond theatre from 22 to 26 June as part of a UK tour.

Acclaimed children’s author David Wood has adapted Roald Dahl’s popular story about a young boy who makes a marvellous medicine to cure his grandmother of her terrifying temper. But when his grandmother drinks his special new potion the most incredible things starts to happen, and George’s adventure has just begun.

BSC’s production, directed by Phil Clark, promises plenty of fizztickling fun and wizzpopping magic for all the family.

To accompany the show’s visit, Richmond theatre has invited Wood to talk about adapting the story for the stage in a special pre-show event on 25 June at 17:00. Tickets cost £5.

In addition, families are invited to take part in free show-related arts and crafts activities at 14:00 & 18:00 on 26 June.

Following its visit to Richmond, BSC will continue to tour the show around the UK, taking in London’s Bloomsbury theatre in December.
