It’s not just All About Eve in these behind-the-scenes photos, as the all-star cast rehearses for opening night in just a few weeks.
A stage adaptation of the classic film, this highly anticipated revival has incredibly exciting casting, including Gillian Anderson and Lily James.
This is Gillian’s highly anticipated return to Theatreland, as she was last here playing Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire back in 2014, which got her an Olivier Award nomination. You may also recognise Lily from the smash-hit films Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and Baby Driver, as well as her recent role as Juliet in Kenneth Branagh’s recent West End production of Romeo And Juliet.
The cast also includes Monica Dolan, Ian Drysdale, Tsion Habte, Jessie Mei Li, Julian Ovenden, Sheila Reid, Rhashan Stone, Stanley Townsend and Philip Voyzey. While the ensemble is completed by Merric Boyd, Fejiro Emasiobi, Charles Hagerty, Chanelle Modi, Stuart Nunn, Phillipa Peak, Grace Stone and Michael Warburton.
All About Eve is the story of Margo Channing (Gillian), an iconic theatre performer who’s used to always being in the spotlight. But when her biggest fan Eve (Lily) arrives to shake things up, Margo soon learns all about Eve. Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this production asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.
Performing at the Noël Coward Theatre, and directed by Ivo van Hove, the show’s music is created by double Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey.
All About Eve opens on 2 February for a limited 14-week run.
