Rebecca Lock, Alasdair Harvey and Charles Daish will join Dianne Pilkington in the cast of hit ABBA musical Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre from June.
Lock, whose West End stage credits include fellow hit musicals The Phantom Of The Opera, Avenue Q and Mary Poppins, will play Donna’s friend Rosie alongside We Will Rock You’s Harvey as Harry and Daish, last seen on the London stage in Race at the Hampstead Theatre, as Bill.
The trio of performers will be joined in the cast from 9 June by Alice Stokoe, who makes her West End debut as Sophie, and Lloyd Green, whose appearance as Sky will mark his professional debut.
Also joining the cast are Rosanna Bates, Brodie McBride, James Alexander Gibbs and James Alan-Evans. Kim Ismay and Richard Trinder will continue in their roles as Tanya and Sam alongside Pilkington’s Donna.
Mamma Mia!, which recently celebrated its 15th birthday, features songs by Swedish super group ABBA and tells the story of a former singer whose daughter is due to marry at their Greek island home. When Sophie, desperate for her real father to give her away at the wedding, invites the three potential candidates to attend, Donna finds her past catching up with her.
Since its premiere in 1999 the musical has played more than 6,300 performances in London and has been seen by more than 10% of the UK’s population. The production is currently booking until 25 April 2015.
