Following a day of unprecedented ticket sales yesterday, producers of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Parts I and II have announced that even more tickets will go on sale tomorrow.
More than 175,000 tickets were snapped up in the first eight hours of sales yesterday. Following overwhelming demand, which saw the initial 16 weeks of performances sold out in a matter of hours, a second booking period was made available to priority bookers, releasing tickets for performances until 8 January 2017.
Public booking will open tomorrow, when another four months of performances will go on sale. From 11:00, Harry Potter fans will be able to book as far ahead as 30 April 2017.
Yesterday marked an exciting day for fans of J K Rowling’s boy wizard who have been waiting to get their hands on the latest instalment of Harry’s sorcery-filled adventures since the play was first rumoured back in 2013.
The eighth story in the series, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Parts I and II sees Harry, now a father and employee of the Ministry of Magic, grapple with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs. As his youngest son Albus struggles with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth that darkness sometimes comes from unexpected places.
Brought to the stage by Rowling and writer/director duo Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, the two-part production will begin its run at the Palace Theatre on 7 June.
