Potted Panto returns for Christmas

First Published 5 September 2013, Last Updated 5 September 2013

Potted Panto will return to London this Christmas, as performers Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner prepare once again to cram seven classic pantomimes into one irreverent 80 minute romp at the Vaudeville theatre.

The masters of condensing, who have enjoyed previous success with Potted Potter, a similarly silly frolic through all seven of the Harry Potter books, will create their acclaimed festive feast for West End audiences from 8 December to 5 January.

From a 3D Cinderella and custard pie-filled Dick Whittington to a unique twist on Jack And The Beanstalk and a Snow White featuring two performers trying to morph themselves into seven dwarves, Potted Panto has won critical acclaim for its energetic, family friendly fun, being described by the Evening Standard as “a hoot of a show” that features, according to The Guardian’s Lyn Gardner, “a 3D journey to nowhere but tear-inducing laughter”.

Created by the well-known CBBC duo alongside writer and director Richard Hurst, the show received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment And Family following its first festive run in 2010.

The dastardly double act will bring their comic cramming to the Vaudeville theatre for daytime performances alongside another show that is still to be announced. The venue’s current production of crime caper The Ladykillers is only booking until 16 November.
