Wimbledon’s Polka theatre kicks off its new season with Paul Sirett’s spooky tale Ghosts In The Gallery, which runs from 26 September to 1 November.
Ghosts In The Gallery is a fast-paced journey through time featuring a host of famous historical figures. Set in an art gallery at closing time on Halloween, the play centres on a young girl who is desperate to see her favourite portrait of Anne Boleyn – when suddenly two hands reach out and grab her. Will she escape or end up on the gallery walls?
Our heroine’s journey covers over 500 years of British history, as she meets familiar faces from Tudor times to the 21st century, including William Shakespeare, Queen Victoria, Winston Churchill and Princess Diana.
Polka will be embracing the spirit of its ghostly show with a special outing to the National Portrait Gallery on the evening of Halloween, 31 October, and is inviting those who dare to join them for some free spooky surprises.
Ghosts In The Gallery is suitable for theatregoers aged eight to 13.
