The Royal Opera House and Polka Theatre have joined forces to present Dot, Squiggle And Rest, a playful adventure for ages two to four-years-old that will be staged at both venues in the coming months.
Set in a fantastical garden that becomes a miniature universe of dots, squiggles, shapes and sounds, the co-production has been specially created to fire toddlers’ imaginations, drawing them into a world of music, movement, dance and play.
Young audiences and their families will first have the chance to see the show when it arrives at the Royal Opera House’s Clore Studio Upstairs from 13 to 21 June before it heads to Wimbledon’s Polka Theatre for a run from 26 June to 16 August.
Created and directed by Joy Haynes with music by Elspeth Brooke, Dot, Squiggle And Rest will give tiny theatregoers the chance to meet a singing box, encounter a dancing prism and follow footprints along a twisting path to creatures that wiggle and squiggle.
