Fans of West End musicals Les Misérables and The Phantom Of The Opera who have ever wondered whether Javert can score like Gerrard or Raoul can run like Ronaldo will soon have the chance to find out as the casts of the hit shows go head-to-head in a charity football match next month.
Cast members from both shows will team up with celebrity friends to compete in the musical match, held in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, which takes place on 11 August at Bromley Football Club.
Ex-cast member Gareth Gates, McFly’s Danny Jones, former goalkeeper Paul Jones, Hollyoaks star Danny Mac and ex-player Bob Taylor will join cast members including Tam Mutu, Ethan Bradshaw and Dougie Carter to fly the flag for Les Misérables, while The Ladykillers star Ralf Little and former football player Francis Benali will join forces with cast members including Simon Thomas, Jeremy Secomb and Michael Kerry to represent The Phantom Of The Opera.
The event, which is also held in support of Les Misérables’ Head of Wigs Melanie Oakley-Dow, who is currently fighting cancer, costs £11.50 for adults and £5 for children, and also features a host of family activities and entertainment for attendees to enjoy before kick-off at 15:00.
