There’s more exciting casting news for Man Of La Mancha, with renowned stage, film and TV actor Peter Polycarpou joining the production.
A previous Olivier Award nominee, Peter has performed in iconic stage and TV shows, including Les Miserables, Olivier! and in Jonathan Kent’s triple Olivier winning production of Steven Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. On TV he is well known for playing Chris Theodopoulopoudos in the popular BBC1 comedy, Birds of a Feather. He recently took part in the Pinter at the Pinter season, starring in Pinter Four opposite Jessica Barden, Bríd Brennan and Robert Glenister.
Peter will play Don Quixote’s squire, Sancho Panza, and will perform opposite the previously announced Kelsey Grammar (Miguel De Cervantes / Don Quixote), Danielle de Niese (Aldonza/Dulcinea), Nicholas Lyndhurst (The Innkeeper/The Captain) and Cassidy Janson (sharing the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea).

The cast will be accompanied by the talented English National Opera orchestra. The production has an incredible score and features the iconic song, ‘Dream the Impossible Dream,’ which has been performed by some of the world’s greatest performers including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Andy Williams, Luther Vandross and The Temptations.
Man Of La Mancha has been away from the West End for a while, with the multi-Tony award-winning show making its return to London after 50 years away from the city.
Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’s Don Quixote, Man Of La Mancha is the story of Miguel De Cervantes / Don Quixote and his servant, Sancho Panza. The pair are locked in a 16th-century dungeon awaiting trial from the Spanish Inquisition. The only possession they have is an unfinished novel entitled Don Quixote, which the other prisoners have their eyes on. As Miguel De Cervantes fights off the thieves, he transforms himself into Alonso Quijano, a deluded man who believes he’s a knight errant. With this delusion taking over, he sets off on a quest with Sancho in this classic tale of knighthood, love, loyalty and adventure.
The show is produced by Michael Linnit and Michael Grade, who previously brought other smash hit productions to the London Coliseum, including Sweeney Todd, Sunset Boulevard, Carousel and Chess.
The show’s director Lonny Price previously directed the acclaimed London production of Sunset Boulevard starring Glenn Close, as well as its hugely-successful subsequent Broadway transfer.
