Peppa Pig Live will return for its sixth consecutive Christmas season in London’s West End this year, when Peppa Pig’s Surprise plays at the Duke of York’s Theatre.
The brand new tale of Peppa and her friends will run for 40 performances in the capital, playing between 18 December and 17 January.
The new production follows Peppa Pig’s Party, Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt and Peppa Pig’s Big Splash, which have all entertained pre-schoolers and their families in London’s Theatreland.
Peppa Pig’s Surprise joins the eponymous porcine heroine on a beautiful day. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have a surprise for the little porker and her younger brother George, but no matter how hard they try they can’t guess what it is.
Suitable for theatregoers aged three-years-old and older, the show promises to be packed with interactive fun, games, songs and surprises.
Speaking about the production, adaptor and director Richard Lewis said: “I’m delighted that Peppa Pig Live will have a sixth consecutive West End residence this Christmas-time. Since the first one at the Criterion Theatre in 2010, we have seen box office demand for these seasons increase year on year and we now know there is an eager young audience for the ultimate festive experience in London, Christmas with Peppa Pig!”
While Peppa Pig’s Surprise plays daytime performances at the Duke of York’s Theatre another family favourite, Goodnight Mister Tom, will play evening and matinee performances.
The Olivier Award-winning drama, which tells the story of Second World War evacuee William Beech and his unlikely friendship with elderly recluse Tom Oakley, runs in London from 11 December to 20 February.
