Phil Willmott and the The second edition of Official London Theatre's podcast, The Cast, is now available to download. The latest show, hosted by Matthew Amer, was inspired by the burst of hot weather enjoyed by London, and takes a look at open air theatre. The Scoop'sOpen Air's Ian Talbot came into the studio to discuss what made them alfresco theatre fans, and we went down to Shakespeare's Globe to find out what makes the Bankside venue tick.
Talbot knows as well as anyone the ins and outs of outdoor theatre, as he has been Artistic Director at the Open Air theatre for the last two decades. This is his final season at the helm of the Regent's Park venue. Willmott, by contrast, is a relative newcomer to genre, having started producing free theatre at The Scoop only five years ago.
At Shakespeare's Globe, The Cast talked to practitioners and audience members, to get a feel for how the venue is fairing over this most inclement of summers.
