Mark O’Rowe, the writer of the screenplay for Boy A, is to direct his own play Terminus at the Young Vic from 30 March to 16 April.
Terminus, which began life at Ireland’s Abbey theatre before winning a Fringe First award at the Edinburgh Festival, is an urban fantasy set in Dublin where the streets – and the skies above – are the scene for an extraordinary chain of events, as three lives collide over a single night of temptation, damnation, rebirth and redemption. Lovesick demons, avenging angels and serial killers conspire to alter these three lives forever.
Irish writer O’Rowe is the author of Howie The Rookie, which premiered at the Bush theatre in 1999, Crestfall, From Both Hips, Anna’s Ankle and Made In China. In addition to adapting the novel Boy A for a BAFTA-winning Channel 4 production, O’Rowe’s screen work includes the 2003 film Intermission, which starred Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy.
Terminus, which stars Declan Conlon, Catherine Walker and Olwen Fouere, plays in the Maria theatre at the Young Vic following Christmas show My Dad’s A Birdman (to 1 January) and Fevered Sleep’s And The Rain Falls Down, which runs to 12 March.
