Transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre following a tour of the UK, Stepping Out is directed by the acclaimed director Maria Friedman, and tells the story of seven women – and one man – who take a weekly dance class to tap away their troubles.
Wonderfully funny and heart-warming, the play first premiered in the West End in 1984, enjoying extended award-winning runs both in London and on Broadway. A musical and film adaptation soon followed, with the tale beloved by audiences on both sides of the atlantic.
Amanda Holden, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Nicola Stephenson and Natalie Casey lead the starry cast of the exciting revival, and we were lucky enough to speak to them on their brilliant opening night about the show, learning to dance for the production, and why audiences should come down and have their ribs tickled and hearts thoroughly warmed.
